Change in my life. - WritingMoniqueWritingMonique

No crafting post today but a small, or rather gigantic, personal update. In the coming month of August I will be going through some huge changes in my life, and I wanted too share the things going on in my life before they are actually happening. You all know that I live in The Netherlands, but in August that will no longer be the case. I will be living in Cambridge, England for a year.

Being an Au-Pair.

First, let me tell you why I am going to move to England. Of course there is the lifelong dream but there is also the job. I am going to work as an au-pair, which means that I am going to live with a family and take care of their children when they are working or out. This means that I can work with children again, and that I will make a lot of new children DIY blogposts as well!

My hostfamily.

The family I will be staying with, lives near Cambridge. I can’t say that much about them but I have already met them once, and when I say that they are lovely, lovely people I am not exaggerating. They have two little children and I will be living in an annex.

My Blog.

I thought about quiting for seven seconds, before I shut that thought down. I love writing, and my blog, more than anything and I am not going to give it up. So I will keep writing, crafting and rambling about confetti, parties and lovely colors.

I have already told you about my anxiety and panic attack. This is one of the biggest steps I am ever going to take, and I am going to take it all on my own. Scary as hell of course, but I have been shouting all my life: ‘I AM GOING TO ENGLAND’, so I am going to England. If I don’t do it now, I will never do it and I will regret it. So I am going to fight all the fear (I know it will come and be horrible), and win.

I am flying on the 11th August and will be staying for a year. If you have any questions at all, please ask them and leave them in the comments. I will be more than happy to answer them.
Also, if you live in England.. I would love to meet you someday. Please send me an e-mail if you would like to meet someday!

Would you ever go abroad, for a longer period of time?

This is such a massive move and from where I’m sitting, sounds like a really, really good decision! How exciting for you, just keep reminding yourself of the quote, ”feel the fear and do it anyway”.. I sincerely hope that you love it here in the UK and in the meantime, enjoy your summer and think about the move only in a positive light! Good luck, I can’t wait to hear how you’re settling in come August!! :)

OMG you are so lucky I’m jealous! I just came back from spending a year in Dublin as an Erasmus student and it was the best, I really miss it, feeling kinda depressed even. France is not fun… Good luck and enjoy England :) x

You’ll be fine! I moved to France on my own when I was 21 and it does seem so scary, but once you’re there it will be fine. Hope you have an amazing time :) What an experience!

Oh Monique I couldn’t be prouder of you girl! <3

Saying I'm happy, excited and gunning for you and your year in Cambridge has to be a major understatement :) It's awesome the family you will be staying with are lovely people, I'm sure they will be so accommodating, welcoming and most of all, safe in the knowledge that they are lucky to have found you! You are right; it's now or never and you are taking the courageous step of following your dreams and living life to the fullest.

How fantastic you are keeping your blog going, would have been so sad if you had decided against doing so! I'm sure with all the excitement and inspo England brings, you, your blog and everything you do will only flourish and blossom even more :)

I'm always here for you, and as you know admire your courage, bravery and wonderful outlook an incredible amount. I can't wait to meet up with you in person! <3

My dear, congratulations that you have the courage to go to Cambridge dispite your fear! I’m convinced this is the right step and the environment you describe sounds really good. I have been to Cambridge in 1997 and I remember that it’s really lovely there. Unfortunately I missed during my life the opportunity to leave my homeland … I think this belongs not to be best decisions I took. Wish you many luck and fun!

I know how you feel! These fears affect our life so much and often… We have to force them and let our dreams be bigger then the fears! It isn’t easy but I think if we make it, it’s the best decision and experience we could make <3 Wish you the best in this one year!
